Isaiah 32
See, a Melech shall reign in tzedek, 1 and sarim shall rule in mishpat (justice). 1
And an ish shall be 1 as a sheltering hiding place from the ruach (wind), 1 and a seter (refuge) from the tempest; 1 as streams of mayim in a dry place, 1 as the tzel (shadow) of a great rock 1 in a weary land. 1
And the eynayim of them that see shall no longer be closed, 1 and the oznayim of them that hear shall pay heed. 1
The levav also of the rash shall understand da'as, 1 and the lashon of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. 1
The naval (foolish person) shall be no more called noble, 1 nor the scoundrel said to be honorable. 1
For the naval will speak foolishness, 1 and his lev will work evil, to practise khonef (hypocrisy), 1 and to utter to'ah (error, perversity) against Hashem, 1 to leave unsatisfied the nefesh of the ra'av (hungry), 1 and he will cause the drink of the tzameh (thirsty) to fail. 1
The schemes also of the schemer are ra'im (evil ones); 1 he deviseth zimmot (wicked schemes) 1 to destroy the poor with words of sheker, 1 even when the evyon (needy) speaketh mishpat (justly). 1
But the noble maketh plans that are noble; 1 and by noble things shall he stand. 1
Rise up, ye nashim that are complacently at ease; 1 hear my voice, ye banot at ease; 1 give ozen unto my speech. 1
Days and a shanah, then shall ye tremble, 1 ye careless nashim; 1 for the grape harvest shall fail, 1 the harvest of fruit shall not come. 1
Tremble, ye nashim that are complacently at ease; 1 shake, ye complacent ones; 1 strip you, and make you bare, 1 and gird sackcloth upon your loins. 1
They shall mournfully beat upon their breasts, 1 for the pleasant fields, 1 for the fruitful gefen (vine). 1
Upon the admat Ami (land of My People) 1 shall come up kotz (thorns) and briers; 1 indeed, upon all the batim (houses) of joy 1 in the city of merriment; 1
Because the palaces shall be forsaken; 1 the multitude of the Ir shall be abandoned; 1 the citadel and stronghold shall be ruins ad olam, 1 a delight of wild donkeys, 1 a pasture of adarim (flocks); 1
Until the Ruach + 32:15 Hakodesh be poured 1 upon us from on high, 1 and the midbar become a carmel (fruitful field), 1 and the carmel become a ya'ar (forest). 1
Then mishpat shall dwell in the midbar, 1 and tzedakah live in the carmel. 1
And the ma'aseh (work) of tzedakah (righteousness) shall be shalom; 1 and the effect of tzedakah 1 quietness and assurance ad olam (forever). 1
And my people shall dwell in a naveh shalom (a habitation of peace) 1 and in secure mishkenot (dwellings), 1 and in quiet menuchot (resting places); 1
When it shall hail, 1 coming down on the ya'ar (forest); 1 and the Ir shall be utterly brought down in a low place. + 32:19 of humiliation 1
Blessed are ye that sow beside all mayim, 1 that send forth there the regel of the shor (ox) and the chamor (donkey).
