Isaiah 60

Arise, shine; for thy + 60:1 Tziyonʼs ohr is come, 1 and the kavod Hashem is risen upon thee. 1

For, hinei, the choshech shall cover Eretz, 1 and gross darkness the nations; 1 but Hashem shall arise upon thee, 1 and His kavod shall be seen upon thee. 1

And the Goyim shall walk by thy ohr, 1 and melachim by the brightness of thy shining. 1

Lift up thine eyes round about, and see; 1 they all gather themselves together, they come to thee; 1 thy banim shall come from afar, 1 and thy banot shall be carried at thy side. 1

Then thou shalt see, and be radiant, 1 and thine lev shall fear, and swell; 1 because the hamon yam shall be converted unto thee, 1 the chayil Goyim (wealth of the Nations) shall come unto thee. 1

A swarm of gemalim (camels) shall cover thee, 1 foals of Midyan and Ephah; 1 all they from Sheva shall come; 1 they shall bring zahav and levonah (frankincense); 1 and they shall bear glad tidings of tehillot (the praises of) Hashem. 1

Kol tzon Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, 1 the rams of Nevayot shall minister unto thee; 1 they shall come up al ratzon (with acceptance) upon Mine Mizbe'ach, 1 and I will glorify the Beis of My Tiferet (The Beis [HaMikdash] of My Glory). 1

Who are these that fly like a cloud, 1 and like the yonim to their roosts? 1

Surely the iyim shall wait for Me, 1 and the oniyot (ships) of Tarshish will come first, 1 to bring thy banim from afar, 1 their kesef and their zahav with them, 1 unto the Shem of Hashem thy G-d, 1 and to the Kadosh Yisroel, 1 because He hath glorified thee. 1

And the Bnei Nekhar shall build up thy chomot, 1 and their melachim shall minister unto thee; 1 for in My ketzef I struck thee, 1 but in My ratzon have I had rachamim on thee. 1

Therefore thy She'arim shall be open continually; 1 they shall not be shut yomam valailah; 1 that men may bring unto thee the chayil Goyim (wealth of the Nations), 1 and that their melachim may be led in procession. 1

For the Goy and Mamlachah 1 that will not serve thee shall perish; 1 yes, those Goyim shall be utterly ruined. + 60:12 T.N. Notice that an anti-Jerusalem, anti-Jewish sentiment among believers is a contradiction in terms here in this verse 1

The kavod HaLevanon shall come unto thee, 1 the juniper tree, the box tree, and the cypress together, 1 to beautify the makom (place) of My Mikdash; 1 and I will make the makom of My raglayim glorious. 1

The banim also of them that oppress thee 1 shall come unto thee in submission; 1 and all they that despised thee 1 shall prostrate themselves down at the soles of thy raglayim; 1 and they shall call thee, The Ir of Hashem, 1 Tziyon of Kadosh Yisroel. 1

Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, 1 so that none passed through thee, 1 I will make thee a Ga'on Olam (Everlasting Pride), 1 a joy dor vador. 1

Thou shalt also drink the cholov Goyim, 1 and shalt nurse at the breast of melachim; 1 and thou shalt know that I Hashem am thy Moshia 1 and thy Go'el, the Avir Ya'akov (Mighty One of Jacob). 1

Instead of nechoshet I will bring zahav, 1 and for barzel (iron) I will bring kesef, 1 and for etzim (wood) nechoshet, 1 and for avanim (stones) barzel (iron); 1 I will also make thy pekudim shalom, 1 and thine nogesim tzedakah. 1

Chamas shall no more be heard in thy land, 1 shod nor shever within thy borders; 1 but thou shalt call thy chomot Yeshu'ah (Salvation), 1 and thy she'arim Tehillah (Praise). 1

The shemesh shall be no more thy ohr yomam; 1 neither for brightness shall the yarei'ach give light unto thee; 1 but Hashem shall be unto thee an Ohr Olam, 1 and thy G-d thy tiferet. 1

Thy shemesh shall no more go down; 1 neither shall thy yarei'ach wane; 1 for Hashem shall be for thee an Ohr Olam, 1 and the yamim of thy avelut shall be ended. 1

Thy people also shall be all of them tzaddikim; 1 they shall inherit the Eretz l'olam, 1 the Netzer + 60:21 See Mt 2:23 of My planting, 1 the ma'aseh of My hands, that I may be glorified. 1

The katon shall become an elef, 1 and the smallest a mighty nation; 1 I Hashem will hasten it in its time.
