Isaiah 56

Thus saith Hashem: 1 Be shomer over mishpat, and do tzedakah (righteousness); 1 for My Yeshu'ah (salvation) is near to come, 1 and My tzedakah to be revealed. 1

Ashrei enosh that doeth this, 1 and the ben adam that layeth hold on it; 1 that is shomer Shabbos avoiding chillul Shabbos, 1 and is shomer to keep his yad from doing kol rah. 1

Neither let the ben hanekhar, 1 that hath joined himself to Hashem, speak, saying: 1 Hashem hath utterly separated me from His people; 1 neither let the saris say: 1 See, I am an etz yavesh (dry tree). 1

For thus saith Hashem 1 unto the sarisim that are shomer Shabbos over My Shabbatot, 1 and choose the things that please Me, 1 and hold fast to My Brit: 1

Even unto them will I give in Mine Bais + 56:5 HaMikdash 1 within My chomot a yad vashem tov 1 better than of banim and of banot; 1 I will give them a Shem Olam, 1 that shall not be yikaret (cut off). 1

Also the bnei hanekhar, that join themselves to Hashem 1 to minister unto Him, 1 and l'ahavah es Shem Hashem, 1 to be His avadim, 1 every one that is shomer Shabbos avoiding chillul Shabbos, 1 and holds fast My Brit; 1

Even them will I bring to My Har Kodesh, 1 and make them have simcha in My Bais Tefillah; 1 their olot and their zevakhim 1 shall be accepted upon Mine Mizbe'ach; 1 for Mine Bais shall be called 1 Bais Tefillah l'khol HaAmim (House of Prayer for All Nations). 1

Thus says Adonoi Hashem, 1 Who gathereth the Nidchei Yisroel (the outcasts of Israel, i.e., those being divinely gathered back from the Golus): 1 Yet will I gather others, 1 besides those that are already gathered. + 56:8 See Yn 10:16 1

All ye animals of the wild, come to devour, 1 yes, all ye animals in the ya'ar (forest). 1

His tzof (watchmen, sentinels, nevi'im) are ivrim (blind); 1 they all lack da'as, 1 they are all kelavim illemim (mute watchdogs) that cannot bark; 1 lying around dreaming, they love to slumber. + 56:10 See Jer 6:17; Ezek 3:17 by contrast 1

Yes, they are kelavim azei nefesh (hungry dogs) never satisfied, 1 and they are ro'im (shepherds) with no da'as; 1 they all look to their own way, + 56:11 See Isa 53:6 1 every one having his end fixated on his own gain. 1

Come ye, say they, I will get yayin, 1 and we will fill ourselves with shechar (strong drink); 1 and makhar (tomorrow) shall be like this day, 1 and gadol yeter me'od (and even much better).
