Psalms 119
1(א) Blessed are the undefiled in the way, 1 Who walk in the law of the Lord. 1
2(א) Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, 1 And that seek him with the whole heart. 1
3(א) They also do no iniquity: 1 They walk in his ways. 1
4(א) Thou hast commanded us 1 To keep thy precepts diligently. 1
5(א) O that my ways were directed 1 To keep thy statutes! 1
6(א) Then shall I not be ashamed, 1 When I have respect unto all thy commandments. 1
7(א) I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, 1 When I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. 1
8(א) I will keep thy statutes: 1 O forsake me not utterly. BETH. 1
9(ב) Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? 1 By taking heed thereto according to thy word. 1
10(ב) With my whole heart have I sought thee: 1 O let me not wander from thy commandments. 1
11(ב) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, 1 That I might not sin against thee. 1
12(ב) Blessed art thou, O Lord: 1 Teach me thy statutes. 1
13(ב) With my lips have I declared 1 All the judgments of thy mouth. 1
14(ב) I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, 1 As much as in all riches. 1
15(ב) I will meditate in thy precepts, 1 And have respect unto thy ways. 1
16(ב) I will delight myself in thy statutes: 1 I will not forget thy word. GIMEL. 1
17(ג) Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, 1 And keep thy word. 1
18(ג) Open thou mine eyes, 1 That I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 1
19(ג) I am a stranger in the earth: 1 Hide not thy commandments from me. 1
20(ג) My soul breaketh for the longing 1 That it hath unto thy judgments at all times. 1
21(ג) Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, 1 Which do err from thy commandments. 1
22(ג) Remove from me reproach and contempt; 1 For I have kept thy testimonies. 1
23(ג) Princes also did sit and speak against me: 1 But thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. 1
24(ג) Thy testimonies also are my delight 1 And my counsellers. DALETH. 1
25(ד) My soul cleaveth unto the dust: 1 Quicken thou me according to thy word. 1
26(ד) I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: 1 Teach me thy statutes. 1
27(ד) Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: 1 So shall I talk of thy wondrous works. 1
28(ד) My soul melteth for heaviness: 1 Strengthen thou me according unto thy word. 1
29(ד) Remove from me the way of lying: 1 And grant me thy law graciously. 1
30(ד) I have chosen the way of truth: 1 Thy judgments have I laid before me. 1
31(ד) I have stuck unto thy testimonies: 1 O Lord, put me not to shame. 1
32(ד) I will run the way of thy commandments, 1 When thou shalt enlarge my heart. HE. 1
33(ה) Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; 1 And I shall keep it unto the end. 1
34(ה) Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; 1 Yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. 1
35(ה) Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; 1 For therein do I delight. 1
36(ה) Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, 1 And not to covetousness. 1
37(ה) Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; 1 And quicken thou me in thy way. 1
38(ה) Stablish thy word unto thy servant, 1 Who is devoted to thy fear. 1
39(ה) Turn away my reproach which I fear: 1 For thy judgments are good. 1
40(ה) Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: 1 Quicken me in thy righteousness. VAU. 1
41(ו) Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, 1 Even thy salvation, according to thy word. 1
42(ו) So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: 1 For I trust in thy word. 1
43(ו) And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; 1 For I have hoped in thy judgments. 1
44(ו) So shall I keep thy law continually 1 For ever and ever. 1
45(ו) And I will walk at liberty: 1 For I seek thy precepts. 1
46(ו) I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, 1 And will not be ashamed. 1
47(ו) And I will delight myself in thy commandments, 1 Which I have loved. 1
48(ו) My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; 1 And I will meditate in thy statutes. ZAIN. 1
49(ז) Remember the word unto thy servant, 1 Upon which thou hast caused me to hope. 1
50(ז) This is my comfort in my affliction: 1 For thy word hath quickened me. 1
51(ז) The proud have had me greatly in derision: 1 Yet have I not declined from thy law. 1
52(ז) I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; 1 And have comforted myself. 1
53(ז) Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked 1 That forsake thy law. 1
54(ז) Thy statutes have been my songs 1 In the house of my pilgrimage. 1
55(ז) I have remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, 1 And have kept thy law. 1
56(ז) This I had, 1 Because I kept thy precepts. CHETH. 1
57(ח) Thou art my portion, O Lord: 1 I have said that I would keep thy words. 1
58(ח) I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: 1 Be merciful unto me according to thy word. 1
59(ח) I thought on my ways, 1 And turned my feet unto thy testimonies. 1
60(ח) I made haste, and delayed not 1 To keep thy commandments. 1
61(ח) The bands of the wicked have robbed me: 1 But I have not forgotten thy law. 1
62(ח) At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee 1 Because of thy righteous judgments. 1
63(ח) I am a companion of all them that fear thee, 1 And of them that keep thy precepts. 1
64(ח) The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: 1 Teach me thy statutes. TETH. 1
65(ט) Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, 1 O Lord, according unto thy word. 1
66(ט) Teach me good judgment and knowledge: 1 For I have believed thy commandments. 1
67(ט) Before I was afflicted I went astray: 1 But now have I kept thy word. 1
68(ט) Thou art good, and doest good; Teach me thy statutes. 1
69(ט) The proud have forged a lie against me: 1 But I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart. 1
70(ט) Their heart is as fat as grease; 1 But I delight in thy law. 1
71(ט) It is good for me that I have been afflicted; 1 That I might learn thy statutes. 1
72(ט) The law of thy mouth is better unto me 1 Than thousands of gold and silver. JOD. 1
73(י) Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: 1 Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. 1
74(י) They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; 1 Because I have hoped in thy word. 1
75(י) I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, 1 And that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. 1
76(י) Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, 1 According to thy word unto thy servant. 1
77(י) Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: 1 For thy law is my delight. 1
78(י) Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: 1 But I will meditate in thy precepts. 1
79(י) Let those that fear thee turn unto me, 1 And those that have known thy testimonies. 1
80(י) Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; 1 That I be not ashamed. CAPH. 1
81(כ) My soul fainteth for thy salvation: 1 But I hope in thy word. 1
82(כ) Mine eyes fail for thy word, 1 Saying, When wilt thou comfort me? 1
83(כ) For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; 1 Yet do I not forget thy statutes. 1
84(כ) How many are the days of thy servant? 1 When wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? 1
85(כ) The proud have digged pits for me, 1 Which are not after thy law. 1
86(כ) All thy commandments are faithful: 1 They persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. 1
87(כ) They had almost consumed me upon earth; 1 But I forsook not thy precepts. 1
88(כ) Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; 1 So shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth. LAMED. 1
89(ל) For ever, O Lord, 1 Thy word is settled in heaven. 1
90(ל) Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: 1 Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. 1
91(ל) They continue this day according to thine ordinances: 1 For all are thy servants. 1
92(ל) Unless thy law had been my delights, 1 I should then have perished in mine affliction. 1
93(ל) I will never forget thy precepts: 1 For with them thou hast quickened me. 1
94(ל) I am thine, save me; 1 For I have sought thy precepts. 1
95(ל) The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: 1 But I will consider thy testimonies. 1
96(ל) I have seen an end of all perfection: 1 But thy commandment is exceeding broad. MEM. 1
97(מ) O how love I thy law! 1 It is my meditation all the day. 1
98(מ) Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: 1 For they are ever with me. 1
99(מ) I have more understanding than all my teachers: 1 For thy testimonies are my meditation. 1
100(מ) I understand more than the ancients, 1 Because I keep thy precepts. 1
101(מ) I have refrained my feet from every evil way, 1 That I might keep thy word. 1
102(מ) I have not departed from thy judgments: 1 For thou hast taught me. 1
103(מ) How sweet are thy words unto my taste! 1 Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 1
104(מ) Through thy precepts I get understanding: 1 Therefore I hate every false way. NUN. 1
105(נ) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, 1 And a light unto my path. 1
106(נ) I have sworn, and I will perform it, 1 That I will keep thy righteous judgments. 1
107(נ) I am afflicted very much: 1 Quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word. 1
108(נ) Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, 1 And teach me thy judgments. 1
109(נ) My soul is continually in my hand: 1 Yet do I not forget thy law. 1
110(נ) The wicked have laid a snare for me: 1 Yet I erred not from thy precepts. 1
111(נ) Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: 1 For they are the rejoicing of my heart. 1
112(נ) I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes 1 Alway, even unto the end. SAMECH. 1
113(ס) I hate vain thoughts: 1 But thy law do I love. 1
114(ס) Thou art my hiding place and my shield: 1 I hope in thy word. 1
115(ס) Depart from me, ye evildoers: 1 For I will keep the commandments of my God. 1
116(ס) Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: 1 And let me not be ashamed of my hope. 1
117(ס) Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: 1 And I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. 1
118(ס) Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: 1 For their deceit is falsehood. 1
119(ס) Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: 1 Therefore I love thy testimonies. 1
120(ס) My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; 1 And I am afraid of thy judgments. AIN. 1
121(ע) I have done judgment and justice: 1 Leave me not to mine oppressors. 1
122(ע) Be surety for thy servant for good: 1 Let not the proud oppress me. 1
123(ע) Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, 1 And for the word of thy righteousness. 1
124(ע) Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, 1 And teach me thy statutes. 1
125(ע) I am thy servant; give me understanding, 1 That I may know thy testimonies. 1
126(ע) It is time for thee, Lord, to work: 1 For they have made void thy law. 1
127(ע) Therefore I love thy commandments 1 Above gold; yea, above fine gold. 1
128(ע) Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; 1 And I hate every false way. PE. 1
129(פ) Thy testimonies are wonderful: 1 Therefore doth my soul keep them. 1
130(פ) The entrance of thy words giveth light; 1 It giveth understanding unto the simple. 1
131(פ) I opened my mouth, and panted: 1 For I longed for thy commandments. 1
132(פ) Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, 1 As thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. 1
133(פ) Order my steps in thy word: 1 And let not any iniquity have dominion over me. 1
134(פ) Deliver me from the oppression of man: 1 So will I keep thy precepts. 1
135(פ) Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; 1 And teach me thy statutes. 1
136(פ) Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, 1 Because they keep not thy law. TZADDI. 1
137(צ) Righteous art thou, O Lord, And upright are thy judgments. 1
138(צ) Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous 1 And very faithful. 1
139(צ) My zeal hath consumed me, 1 Because mine enemies have forgotten thy words. 1
140(צ) Thy word is very pure: 1 Therefore thy servant loveth it. 1
141(צ) I am small and despised: 1 Yet do not I forget thy precepts. 1
142(צ) Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, 1 And thy law is the truth. 1
143(צ) Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: 1 Yet thy commandments are my delights. 1
144(צ) The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: 1 Give me understanding, and I shall live. KOPH. 1
145(ק) I cried with my whole heart; 1 Hear me, O Lord: I will keep thy statutes. 1
146(ק) I cried unto thee; save me, 1 And I shall keep thy testimonies. 1
147(ק) I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: 1 I hoped in thy word. 1
148(ק) Mine eyes prevent the night watches, 1 That I might meditate in thy word. 1
149(ק) Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: 1 O Lord, quicken me according to thy judgment. 1
150(ק) They draw nigh that follow after mischief: 1 They are far from thy law. 1
151(ק) Thou art near, O Lord; 1 And all thy commandments are truth. 1
152(ק) Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old 1 That thou hast founded them for ever. RESH. 1
153(ר) Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: 1 For I do not forget thy law. 1
154(ר) Plead my cause, and deliver me: 1 Quicken me according to thy word. 1
155(ר) Salvation is far from the wicked: 1 For they seek not thy statutes. 1
156(ר) Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: 1 Quicken me according to thy judgments. 1
157(ר) Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; 1 Yet do I not decline from thy testimonies. 1
158(ר) I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; 1 Because they kept not thy word. 1
159(ר) Consider how I love thy precepts: 1 Quicken me, O Lord, according to thy lovingkindness. 1
160(ר) Thy word is true from the beginning: 1 And every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. SCHIN. 1
161(ש) Princes have persecuted me without a cause: 1 But my heart standeth in awe of thy word. 1
162(ש) I rejoice at thy word, 1 As one that findeth great spoil. 1
163(ש) I hate and abhor lying: 1 But thy law do I love. 1
164(ש) Seven times a day do I praise thee 1 Because of thy righteous judgments. 1
165(ש) Great peace have they which love thy law: 1 And nothing shall offend them. 1
166(ש) Lord, I have hoped for thy salvation, 1 And done thy commandments. 1
167(ש) My soul hath kept thy testimonies; 1 And I love them exceedingly. 1
168(ש) I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: 1 For all my ways are before thee. TAU. 1
169(ת) Let my cry come near before thee, O Lord: 1 Give me understanding according to thy word. 1
170(ת) Let my supplication come before thee: 1 Deliver me according to thy word. 1
171(ת) My lips shall utter praise, 1 When thou hast taught me thy statutes. 1
172(ת) My tongue shall speak of thy word: 1 For all thy commandments are righteousness. 1
173(ת) Let thine hand help me; 1 For I have chosen thy precepts. 1
174(ת) I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; 1 And thy law is my delight. 1
175(ת) Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; 1 And let thy judgments help me. 1
176(ת) I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; 1 For I do not forget thy commandments.
