Psalms 83
Keep not thou silence, O God: 1 Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. 1
For lo, thine enemies make a tumult: 1 And they that hate thee have lift up the head. 1
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, 1 And consulted against thy hidden ones. 1
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; 1 That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. 1
For they have consulted together with one consent: 1 They are confederate against thee: 1
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; 1 Of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 1
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; 1 The Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; 1
Assur also is joined with them: 1 They have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. 1
Do unto them as unto the Midianites; 1 As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: 1
Which perished at En-dor: 1 They became as dung for the earth. 1
Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: 1 Yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: 1
Who said, Let us take to ourselves 1 The houses of God in possession. 1
O my God, make them like a wheel; 1 As the stubble before the wind. 1
As the fire burneth a wood, 1 And as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; 1
So persecute them with thy tempest, 1 And make them afraid with thy storm. 1
Fill their faces with shame; 1 That they may seek thy name, O Lord. 1
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; 1 Yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: 1
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, 1 Art the most High over all the earth.
