Psalms 56
Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; 1 He fighting daily oppresseth me. 1
Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: 1 For they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 1
What time I am afraid, 1 I will trust in thee. 1
In God I will praise his word, 1 In God I have put my trust; I will not fear 1 What flesh can do unto me. 1
Every day they wrest my words: 1 All their thoughts are against me for evil. 1
They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, 1 They mark my steps, 1 When they wait for my soul. 1
Shall they escape by iniquity? 1 In thine anger cast down the people, O God. 1
Thou tellest my wanderings: 1 Put thou my tears into thy bottle: 1 Are they not in thy book? 1
When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: 1 This I know; for God is for me. 1
In God will I praise his word: 1 In the Lord will I praise his word. 1
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid 1 What man can do unto me. 1
Thy vows are upon me, O God: 1 I will render praises unto thee. 1
For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, 1 That I may walk before God in the light of the living?
