Psalms 97

The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; 1 Let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. 1

Clouds and darkness are round about him: 1 Righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. 1

A fire goeth before him, 1 And burneth up his enemies round about. 1

His lightnings enlightened the world: 1 The earth saw, and trembled. 1

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, 1 At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. 1

The heavens declare his righteousness, 1 And all the people see his glory. 1

Confounded be all they that serve graven images, 1 That boast themselves of idols: 1 Worship him, all ye gods. 1

Zion heard, and was glad, 1 And the daughters of Judah rejoiced, 1 Because of thy judgments, O Lord. 1

For thou, Lord, art High above all the earth: 1 Thou art exalted far above all gods. 1

Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: 1 He preserveth the souls of his saints; 1 He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. 1

Light is sown for the righteous, 1 And gladness for the upright in heart. 1

Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; 1 And give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
