Psalms 6

O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, 1 Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 1

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: 1 O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. 1

My soul is also sore vexed: 1 But thou, O Lord, how long? 1

Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: 1 O save me for thy mercy’s sake. 1

For in death there is no remembrance of thee: 1 In the grave who shall give thee thanks? 1

I am weary with my groaning; 1 All the night make I my bed to swim; 1 I water my couch with my tears. 1

Mine eye is consumed because of grief; 1 It waxeth old because of all mine enemies. 1

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; 1 For the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. 1

The Lord hath heard my supplication; 1 The Lord will receive my prayer. 1

Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: 1 Let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
