Psalms 31

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; 1 Let me never be ashamed: 1 Deliver me in thy righteousness. 1

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: 1 Be thou my strong rock, 1 For a house of defence to save me. 1

For thou art my rock and my fortress; 1 Therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. 1

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: 1 For thou art my strength. 1

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: 1 Thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. 1

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: 1 But I trust in the Lord. 1

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: 1 For thou hast considered my trouble; 1 Thou hast known my soul in adversities; 1

And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: 1 Thou hast set my feet in a large room. 1

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: 1 Mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. 1

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: 1 My strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. 1

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, 1 But especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: 1 They that did see me without fled from me. 1

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: 1 I am like a broken vessel. 1

For I have heard the slander of many: 1 Fear was on every side: 1 While they took counsel together against me, 1 They devised to take away my life. 1

But I trusted in thee, O Lord: 1 I said, Thou art my God. 1

My times are in thy hand: 1 Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. 1

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: 1 Save me for thy mercy’s sake. 1

Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: 1 Let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. 1

Let the lying lips be put to silence; 1 Which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. 1

O how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; 1 Which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee 1 Before the sons of men! 1

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: 1 Thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. 1

Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. 1

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: 1 Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. 1

O love the Lord, all ye his saints: 1 For the Lord preserveth the faithful, 1 And plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. 1

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, 1 All ye that hope in the Lord.
