Psalms 9

(א) I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; 1 I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. 1

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: 1 I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. 1

(ב) When mine enemies are turned back, 1 They shall fall and perish at thy presence. 1

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; 1 Thou satest in the throne judging right. 1

(ג) Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, 1 Thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. 1

(ה) O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: 1 And thou hast destroyed cities; 1 Their memorial is perished with them. 1

(ו) But the Lord shall endure for ever: 1 He hath prepared his throne for judgment. 1

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, 1 He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. 1

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, 1 A refuge in times of trouble. 1

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: 1 For thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. 1

(ז) Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: 1 Declare among the people his doings. 1

When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: 1 He forgetteth not the cry of the humble. 1

(ח) Have mercy upon me, O Lord; 1 Consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, 1 Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: 1

That I may shew forth all thy praise 1 In the gates of the daughter of Zion: 1 I will rejoice in thy salvation. 1

(ט) The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: 1 In the net which they hid is their own foot taken. 1

The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: 1 The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. 1 Higgaion. Selah. 1

(י) The wicked shall be turned into hell, 1 And all the nations that forget God. 1

(כ) For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: 1 The expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. 1

Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: 1 Let the heathen be judged in thy sight. 1

Put them in fear, O Lord: 1 That the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
