Psalms 50

The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth 1 From the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 1

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, 1 God hath shined. 1

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: 1 A fire shall devour before him, 1 And it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 1

He shall call to the heavens from above, 1 And to the earth, that he may judge his people. 1

Gather my saints together unto me; 1 Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 1

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: 1 For God is judge himself. Selah. 1

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; 1 O Israel, and I will testify against thee: 1 I am God, even thy God. 1

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices 1 Or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. 1

I will take no bullock out of thy house, 1 Nor he goats out of thy folds. 1

For every beast of the forest is mine, 1 And the cattle upon a thousand hills. 1

I know all the fowls of the mountains: 1 And the wild beasts of the field are mine. 1

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: 1 For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. 1

Will I eat the flesh of bulls, 1 Or drink the blood of goats? 1

Offer unto God thanksgiving; 1 And pay thy vows unto the most High: 1

And call upon me in the day of trouble: 1 I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. 1

But unto the wicked God saith, 1 What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, 1 Or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? 1

Seeing thou hatest instruction, 1 And castest my words behind thee. 1

When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, 1 And hast been partaker with adulterers. 1

Thou givest thy mouth to evil, 1 And thy tongue frameth deceit. 1

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; 1 Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. 1

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; 1 Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: 1 But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. 1

Now consider this, ye that forget God, 1 Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. 1

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: 1 And to him that ordereth his conversation aright 1 Will I shew the salvation of God.
