Psalms 10
1Why standest Thou afar off, Hashem? 1 Why hidest Thou Thyself in times of tzoros? 1
2The reshah in his ga'avah (haughtiness) doth persecute the ani (poor); + 10:2 See Zech 9:9 where ani is Moshiach 1 let them be caught in the devices that they have schemed. 1
3For the reshah boasteth of his ta'avat nefesh (soulʼs lust), 1 and blesseth the covetous, whom Hashem abhorreth. 1
4The reshah, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after Him; 1 Elohim is not in all his thoughts. 1
5His ways are always prosperous; 1 Thy mishpatim are on high, out of his sight; 1 as for all his enemies, he sneers at them. 1
6He hath said in his lev, I shall not be shaken; 1 throughout all generations I shall never be in trouble. 1
7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; 1 under his leshon (tongue) is trouble and iniquity. 1
8He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages; 1 in the places for ambush doth he murder the naki (innocent); 1 his eyes are secretly set against the poor. 1
9He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den; 1 he lieth in wait to catch the poor; 1 he doth catch the poor when he draweth him into his reshet. 1
10He crouches, and stoops, 1 that the poor may fall by his atzum (might). 1
11He hath said in his lev, El hath forgotten; 1 He hideth his face; He will never see it. 1
12Arise, Hashem; 1 O El, lift up Thine yad; forget not the aniyim. 1
13For why doth the reshah renounce Elohim? 1 He hath said in his lev, Thou wilt not call me to account. 1
14Thou hast seen it; for Thou beholdest trouble and ka'as (grief), 1 to requite it with Thy yad; 1 the helpless committeth himself unto Thee; 1 Thou art the Ozer (helper) of the yatom (orphan). 1
15Break Thou the zero'a of the reshah and the evil man; 1 call to account his wickedness 1 that would not be found out. 1
16Hashem is Melech olam va'ed; 1 the Goyim are perished out of His land. 1
17Hashem, Thou hast heard the desire of the aniyim; 1 Thou wilt strengthen their lev, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear; 1
18To judge the yatom (orphan) and the oppressed, 1 that enosh of the earth may no more strike terror.
