Psalms 72
1(Of Sh'lomo) 1 and Thy tzedakah unto the Ben Melech. 1
2He shall judge Thy people with tzedek, 1 and Thy poor with mishpat. 1
3The harim (mountains) shall bear shalom to the people, 1 and geva'ot (hills) in tzedakah. 1
4He shall judge the poor of the people; 1 yoshia (He shall save) the bnei evyon (children of the needy), 1 and shall break in pieces the oppressor. 1
5They shall fear Thee as long as the shemesh and yarei'ach endure, 1 dor dorim (throughout all generations). 1
6He shall come down like matar (rain) upon the mown field, 1 as showers watering eretz. 1
7In his yamim shall the tzaddik flourish; 1 and abundance of shalom so long as the yarei'ach endureth. 1
8He + 72:8 Moshiach Ben Dovid shall have dominion also from yam to yam, 1 and from nahar (Euphrates river) unto the afsei eretz (the ends of the earth). 1
9They that dwell in the desert shall bow before him; 1 and his oyevim (enemies) shall lick the aphar (dust). 1
10The melachim of Tarshish and of the iyim (islands) shall bring minchah (tribute); 1 the melachim of Sheva and Seva shall offer gifts. 1
11Kol melachim shall fall down before him; + 72:11 Moshiach 1 kol Goyim shall serve him. 1
12For he shall deliver the evyon (needy) when he crieth; 1 the oni (poor, afflicted) also, and him that hath no ozer (helper). 1
13He shall pity the weak and evyon (needy), 1 and yoshi'a (he shall save) the nefashot of the evyonim (needy). 1
14He shall be the Go'el Redeemer of their nefesh from deceit and chamas; 1 and precious shall their dahm be in his sight. 1
15And he shall live, 1 and to him shall be given of the zahav of Sheva; 1 and prayer shall be for him continually; 1 and daily shall a brocha be made on him. 1
16There shall be an abundance of grain on ha'aretz 1 upon the top of the harim (mountains); 1 the fruit thereof shall shake + 72:16 in the trees like in Levanon; 1 and they of the city shall flourish like esev ha'aretz. 1
17Shmo (His Name) shall endure l'olam; 1 Shmo shall be continued as long as the shemesh; 1 and men shall be blessed in him; 1 kol Goyim shall call him blessed. 1
18Baruch Hashem Elohim, Elohei Yisroel, 1 who only doeth nifla'ot (wondrous things). 1
19And baruch Shem kevodo l'olam (and blessed be His Glorious Name forever); 1 and let the whole earth be filled with His glory. 1 Omein, and Omein. 1
20The tefillot Dovid Ben Yishai are ended. + 72:20 T.N. The next Psalm concerns a revelation received in the Holy Place, namely the fate of the wicked whose prosperity is delusional since the riches of G-dʼs house is wealth they can never attain to, revealing their true eternal poverty.
