Psalms 127

1(Shir HaMa'alot, of Sh'lomo) 1 they that build it labor in vain; 1 except Hashem is shomer over the city, 1 the shomair (watchman) stands guard in vain. 1

2It is vain for you to rise up early, 1 to sit up late, 1 to eat the lechem ha'atzavim (bread of toils); 1 for so He giveth his beloved sleep. 1

3Hinei, banim are nachalat Hashem; 1 and the p'ri habeten is a zachar (reward). 1

4As khitzim (arrows) are in the yad of a gibbor; 1 so are bnei haneurim (children born in oneʼs youth). 1

5Ashrei hagever that hath his quiver full of them; 1 they shall not be ashamed, 1 but they shall speak with the oyevim basha'ar (enemy at the gate).
