Psalms 104
Barachi (bless) Hashem, O my nefesh. 1 Hashem Elohai, Thou art gadol me'od; 1 Thou art clothed with hod (honor) and hadar (majesty). 1
Who coverest Thyself with ohr (light) as with a garment; 1 Who stretchest out Shomayim like a tent (curtain); 1
Who layeth the beams of His aliyyot (upper rooms) on the mayim; 1 Who maketh the clouds His merkavah; 1 Who walketh upon the wings of the ruach (wind); 1
Who maketh ruchot (spirits, winds) His malachim; 1 His mesharetim (ministers), flaming eish. 1
Who laid the mekhonim (foundations) of ha'aretz, 1 that it should not move out of place olam va'ed. 1
Thou coveredst it with the tehom (deep) as with a garment; 1 the mayim stood above the harim (mountains). 1
At Thy ga'arah (rebuke) they fled; 1 at the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away. 1
They go up by the harim (mountains); 1 they go down by the beka'ot (valleys) 1 unto the makom (place) which Thou hast assigned for them. 1
Thou hast set a boundary that they + 104:9 the waters may not pass over; 1 that they return not to cover ha'aretz. 1
He sendeth the ma'ayanim (springs) into the ravines, 1 which run among the harim. 1
They give drink to every beast of the sadeh; 1 the pera'im (donkeys) quench their thirst. 1
By them shall the oph HaShomayim have their habitation, 1 which sing among the branches. 1
He watereth the harim from His aliyyot (upper rooms); 1 ha'aretz is satisfied with the p'ri (fruit) of Thy ma'asim. 1
He causeth the khatzir (grass) to grow for the behemah, 1 and esev for the avodas ha'adam; 1 that he may bring forth lechem out of ha'aretz; 1
And yayin that maketh glad levav enosh, 1 and shemen to make panim (faces) to shine, 1 and lechem which strengtheneth levav enosh. 1
The trees of Hashem are full of sap, 1 the arazim (cedars) of Levanon, which He hath planted; 1
Where the tzipporim (birds) make their nests; 1 as for the khasidah (stork), the beroshim (cypresses) are her bais. 1
The high hills are a makhseh (refuge, shelter) for the wild goats; 1 and the rocks for the gophers. 1
He appointed the yarei'ach for mo'adim; 1 the shemesh knoweth the place of its going down. 1
Thou makest choshech, and it is lailah; 1 wherein all the beasts of the ya'ar (forest) do creep forth. 1
The young lions roar after their teref (prey), 1 and seek their okhel from G-d. 1
The shemesh ariseth, they retreat, 1 and lay themselves down in their me'onot (dwelling places, dens, homes). + 104:22 Yn 14:2 1
Adam goeth forth unto his work 1 and to his avodah (labor, service) until erev. 1
Hashem, how manifold are Thy ma'asim! 1 In chochmah (wisdom) + 104:24 cf Ps 33:6; Yn 1:1 hast Thou made them all; 1 ha'aretz is full of Thy riches. 1
So is this gadol (great) and rekhav (wide, spacious) yam (sea), 1 wherein are remes (creeping things), 1 innumerable swarming chayyot (creatures), ketanot and gedolot. 1
There go the oniyyot (ships); 1 there is that Leviathan, whom Thou hast made lesakhek (to play, to sport, to frolic) therein. 1
These wait all upon Thee; 1 that Thou mayest give them their ochel (food) in due season. 1
That Thou givest them they gather; 1 Thou openest Thine yad, they are satisfied with tov. 1
Thou hidest Thy face, they are troubled; 1 Thou takest away their ruach, they expire, 1 and return to their aphar. 1
Thou sendest forth Thy Ruach, + 104:30 Hakodesh they are created; 1 and Thou renewest the face of adamah (earth). 1
The Kavod Hashem shall endure l'olam; 1 Hashem shall rejoice in His ma'asim (works). 1
He looketh on ha'aretz, and it trembleth; 1 He toucheth the harim, and they smoke. 1
I will sing unto Hashem as long as I live; 1 I will sing praise to Elohai while I have my being. 1
May my si'akh (musing, meditation) be acceptable to Him; 1 I will have simchah in Hashem. 1
Let the chatta'im (sinners) be consumed from ha'aretz, 1 and let the resha'im (wicked) be no more. 1 Baruch Hashem, O my nefesh. 1 Praise Hashem!
