Psalms 124
(Shir HaMa'alot [Song of Ascents], of Dovid) 1 now may Yisroel say; 1
If it had not been Hashem Who was lanu, 1 when adam (man) rose up against us; 1
Then they had swallowed us up chayyim (alive); 1 when their wrath was kindled against us; 1
Then the mayim would have overwhelmed us, 1 the torrent would have swept over nafsheinu (our nefesh); 1
Then the mayim hazedonim (treacherous waters) 1 would have swept over nafsheinu (our nefesh). 1
Baruch Hashem, 1 Who hath not given us up 1 as a prey to their shinayim (teeth). 1
Nafsheinu (our nefesh) is escaped as a tzippor (bird) 1 out of the pach (snare of the fowlers); 1 the pach is broken, 1 and we are escaped. 1
Ezreinu (our help) B'Shem Hashem 1 Oseh Shomayim vaAretz.
