Psalms 7
(Shiggayon of Dovid, which he sang unto Hashem, regarding Kush of Binyamin) 1
Hashem Elohai, in Thee do I seek refuge; 1 hoshieini (save me) from all them that persecute me, and deliver me; 1
Lest he tear my nefesh like a lion, rending it in pieces, 1 while there is none to rescue. 1
Hashem Elohai, if I have done this; 1 if there be guilt in my hands; 1
If I have recompensed with evil him that held out shalom unto me; 1 or, without cause plundered my opposers, 1
Then let the enemy persecute my nefesh, and take it; 1 yea, let him tread down my life to the earth, 1 and lay mine kavod to sleep in the dust. 1 Selah 1
Arise, Hashem, in Thine anger, 1 lift up Thyself because of the rage of mine enemies; 1 awake, o my El, to the mishpat Thou hast decreed. 1
So let the Adat l'Umim surround Thee; 1 and over it return Thou on high. + 7:8 to judge 1
Hashem shall judge the people; 1 judge me, Hashem, according to my tzedek, 1 and according to mine integrity that is in me. 1
Oh let the wickedness of the resha'im come to an end; 1 but make the tzaddik secure; 1 for the Elohim Tzaddik trieth the minds and hearts. 1
My mogen (shield) is Elohim, 1 Moshi'a of the upright in heart. 1
Elohim is a Shofet Tzaddik, 1 and El expresses wrath kol yom. 1
If He relent not, He will sharpen His cherev; 1 He hath bent His keshet (bow) and made it ready. 1
He hath also prepared for Him the instruments of mavet; 1 He ordaineth His flaming khitzim (arrows). 1
Hinei, he + 7:15 an evil person travaileth with iniquity, 1 and hath conceived trouble, and brought forth falsehood. 1
He makes a pit, and digs it, 1 and is fallen into the shachat (pit) which he made. 1
His trouble shall return upon his own rosh, 1 and his chamas shall come down upon his own kodkod (crown of the head). 1
I will give thanks to Hashem according to His tzedek; 1 and will sing praise to the Shem of Hashem Elyon.
