Psalms 147
1Praise ye Hashem: 1 for it is tov to sing praises unto Eloheinu; 1 for it is na'im (pleasant); 1 and tehillah is fitting. 1
2Hashem is the Boneh Yerushalayim (builder of Jerusalem): 1 He gathereth together the nidkhei Yisroel (the outcasts Of Israel, those of the Golus). 1
3He is the Rofeh (healer) of the Shevurei-lev (broken in heart), 1 binds up their wounds. 1
4He determines the mispar of the kokhavim; 1 He calleth them all by their shemot. 1
5Gadol is Adoneinu, and of rav ko'ach; 1 to His tevunah (understanding, intelligence) there is no mispar (number, limit). 1
6Hashem lifteth up the anavim (meek ones, humble ones); 1 He casteth the resha'im down to the ground. 1
7Sing unto Hashem with todah; 1 make music upon the kinnor (harp) unto Eloheinu: 1
8Who covereth Shomayim with clouds, 1 Who prepareth matar (rainfall) for ha'aretz, 1 HaMatzemi'ach (Who maketh to spring up) the khatzir (grass) upon the harim (hills, mountains). 1
9He giveth to the behemah her lechem, 1 and to the bnei orev (young ravens) when they cry out. 1
10He delighteth not in the gevurat hasus: 1 He taketh not pleasure in the shokayim of an ish (legs of a man). 1
11Hashem taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, 1 in those that hope in His chesed. 1
12Praise Hashem, O Yerushalayim; 1 praise thy G-d, O Tziyon. 1
13For He hath strengthened the bars of thy she'arim (gates); 1 He hath blessed thy banim within thee. 1
14He granteth shalom within thy borders, 1 and filleth thee with the chelev chittim (the finest of wheat). 1
15He sendeth forth His imrah (command) upon eretz: 1 His Devar runneth swiftly. 1
16He giveth sheleg (snow) like tzemer (wool); 1 He scattereth the kfor (frost) like ashes. 1
17He casteth down His kerach (ice) like crumbs: 1 who can stand before His cold? 1
18He sendeth out His Devar, and melteth them: 1 He causeth His ruach to blow, and the mayim to flow. 1
19He declareth His Devar unto Ya'akov, 1 His chukkot and His mishpatim unto Yisroel. 1
20He hath not dealt so with any Goy (nation): and as for His mishpatim, they have not known them. 1 Praise ye Hashem. 1 Praise Hashem.
