Psalms 46
1(For the one directing. Of the Bnei Korach. Al-alamot. + 46:1 after the manner of virgins, i.e., in the treble Shir) 1
2Elohim is our refuge and strength, 1 a very present help in tzoros. 1
3Therefore we will not fear, 1 though eretz be shaken, 1 and though the harim (mountains) fall 1 into the lev yamim (heart of the seas); 1
4Though the mayim thereof roar and be troubled, 1 though the harim shake with the surging thereof. 1 Selah 1
5There is a nahar (river), the streams whereof shall make glad the Ir Elohim, 1 the Kedosh Mishkenei Elyon (the holy dwelling of the Most High). 1
6Elohim is in the midst of it; + 46:6 i.e., the Ir Elohim it shall not be moved; 1 Elohim shall help it at early boker. 1
7The Goyim raged, the kingdoms totter; 1 He uttered His voice, eretz melted. 1
8Hashem Tzva'os is with us; 1 Elohei Ya'akov is our stronghold. 1 Selah 1
9Come, behold the works of Hashem, 1 what desolations He hath made in ha'aretz. 1
10He maketh milchamot to cease unto the end of ha'aretz; 1 He breaketh the keshet (bow), and cutteth the khanit (spear); 1 He burneth the chariots in the eish. 1
11Be still, and know that I am Elohim: 1 I will be exalted among the Goyim, 1 I will be exalted in ha'aretz. 1
12Hashem Tzva'os is with us; 1 Elohei Ya'akov is our stronghold. 1 Selah
