Psalms 48
(Shir. Mizmor. Of the Bnei Korach) 1
Gadol is Hashem, 1 and greatly to be praised in the Ir Eloheinu, 1 in His Har Kodesh. 1
Yafeh in its loftiness, the joy of kol ha'aretz, 1 is Mount Tziyon, on the sides of the north, 1 the City of Melech Rav. 1
Elohim is in her citadels, 1 known as her fortress. 1
For, hinei, the melachim were assembled, 1 they advanced together. 1
They saw, and ken (thus) they marvelled; 1 they were troubled, and fled. 1
Trembling took hold upon them sham (there), 1 and pain, as of a woman in labor. 1
Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish 1 with an east wind. 1
As we have heard, so have we seen 1 in the Ir Hashem Tzva'os, 1 in the Ir Eloheinu; 1 Elohim will establish it ad olam. 1 Selah 1
We meditate on Thy chesed, O Elohim, 1 in the midst of Thy Heikhal. 1
According to Thy Shem, O Elohim, 1 so is Thy tehillah unto the ends of ha'aretz; 1 Thy right hand is full of tzedek. 1
Let Mount Tziyon rejoice, 1 let the Banot Yehudah (Daughters of Judah) be glad, 1 because of Thy mishpatim. 1
Walk about Tziyon, and go around her; 1 count the towers thereof. 1
Mark ye well her ramparts, 1 consider her citadels; 1 that ye may tell it to the dor acharon. 1
For this Elohim is Eloheinu olam vaed; 1 He will be our guide even unto death. + 48:15 T.N. Notice Ps 49:8-9 [9-10], which tells why Moshiach can not be a mere man, in which case he could not redeem another, or be Hashem ʼs Isa 53 redemption lamb or the Isa 53 sa'ir l'azazel kapporah.
