Psalms 80
1(For the one directing. Set to The Lilies of the Edut. Of Asaph. Mizmor.) 1
2Give ear, O Ro'eh Yisroel, 1 Thou that leadest Yosef like a tzon; 1 Thou that art enthroned between the Keruvim, shine forth. 1
3Before Ephrayim and Binyamin and Menasheh, 1 Stir up Thy gevurah (might), and come and save us. 1
4Turn us again, O Elohim, 1 and cause Thy face to shine that we may be saved. 1
5Hashem Elohim Tzva'os, 1 ad mosai (how long) wilt Thou be angry against the tefillat amecha (prayer of Thy people)? 1
6Thou feedest them with the lechem dimah (bread of tears); 1 and givest them dima'ot (tears) to drink in great measure. 1
7Thou makest us a madon (strife, contention) unto shcheneinu (our neighbors), 1 and oyveinu (our enemies) mock us. 1
8Turn us again, O Elohim Tzva'os, 1 and cause Thy face to shine that we may be saved. 1
9Thou hast brought a gefen (vine) out of Mitzrayim; 1 Thou hast drove out Goyim, and planted it. 1
10Thou preparedst room before it, 1 and didst cause it to take deep root, 1 and it filled the eretz. 1
11The harim were covered with the tzel (shadow) of it, 1 and the branches thereof were like the mighty cedars. 1
12It sent out its branches unto the yam (sea), + 80:12 i.e., Mediterranean Sea 1 and its shoots unto the Nahar (river). + 80:12 i.e., the Euphrates 1
13Lammah (why) hast Thou then broken down her walls, 1 so that all they which pass by the derech do pluck her? 1
14The chazir (wild boar) out of the forest doth lay it waste, 1 and the beasts of the sadeh doth devour it. 1
15Shuv nah (return now), we beseech Thee, O Elohim Tzva'os; 1 look down from Shomayim, and behold, and visit gefen zot (this vine); 1
16And the stock which Thy Yamin (Right Hand) hath planted, 1 and the Ben that Thou madest strong for Thyself. 1
17It is burned with eish, it is cut down; 1 they perish at the ge'arah (rebuke) of Thy countenance. 1
18Let Thy Yad be upon the Ish Yeminecha (the Man of your Right Hand), 1 upon the Ben Adam whom Thou madest strong for Thyself. + 80:18 cf Ps 110:1; Dan 7:13 1
19So will we never turn back from Thee; 1 revive us, and we will call upon Thy Shem. 1
20Turn us again, Hashem Elohim Tzva'os; 1 cause Thy face to shine that we may be saved.
