Psalms 63
(Mizmor Dovid. When he was in the midbar Yehudah) 1
O Elohim, 1 Thou art Eli; 1 early will I seek Thee; 1 my nefesh thirsteth for Thee; 1 my basar longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, 1 where no mayim is, 1
To see Thy oz (might, power) and Thy kavod, 1 as I have beheld Thee in the Kodesh (holy place, sanctuary, Mikdash). 1
Because Thy chesed is better than chayyim, 1 my lips shall praise Thee. 1
Thus will I bless Thee while I live; 1 I will lift up my hands b'Shimcha (in Thy Name.) 1
My nefesh shall be satisfied as with chelev (fat) and deshen (abundance); 1 and my mouth shall praise Thee with lips of joyful singing; 1
When I remember Thee upon my bed, 1 and meditate on Thee in the ashmurot (night watches). 1
Because Thou hast been my help, 1 therefore in the tzel (shadow) of Thy wings will I sing with joy. 1
My nefesh followeth hard after Thee; 1 Thy Yamin (Right Hand) upholdeth me. 1
But those that seek my nefesh, to destroy it, 1 shall go into the abysses of ha'aretz. 1
They deliver him into the power of the cherev; 1 they shall be a portion for jackals. 1
But HaMelech shall rejoice in Elohim; 1 every one that sweareth by Him shall glory; 1 but the mouth of them that speak sheker shall be stopped.
