Psalms 37
(Of Dovid) 1 neither have thou kina (jealousy, envy) of the workers of iniquity. 1
For they shall soon be cut down like the khatzir (grass), 1 and wither as the green desheh (herb, plant). 1
Trust in Hashem, and do tov; 1 so shalt thou dwell in the Eretz (land), ure'eh emunah (and thou be pastured securely). 1
Delight thyself also in Hashem, 1 and He shall give thee the desires of thine lev. 1
Commit thy derech (road, way) unto Hashem; 1 trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. 1
And He shall bring forth thy tzedakah (righteousness) as the ohr (light), 1 and thy mishpat (justice) as the tzohorayim (noonday). 1
Rest in Hashem, and wait patiently for Him; 1 fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his derech, 1 because of the ish who bringeth wicked schemes to pass. 1
Cease from anger, and forsake chemah (wrath); 1 fret not thyself in any wise to do rah. 1
For evildoers shall be cut off; 1 but those that wait upon Hashem, they shall inherit the Eretz (land). 1
For yet a little while, and the rasha shall not be; 1 yes, thou shalt watch his place, and he will not be. 1
But the anavim (meek ones) shall inherit Eretz; 1 and shall delight themselves in rov shalom (great peace). + 37:11 See Ps 119:165 1
The rasha plotteth against the tzaddik, 1 and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. 1
Adonoi shall laugh at him, 1 for He seeth that his yom is coming. 1
The resha'im have drawn out the cherev, 1 and have bent their keshet, 1 to cast down the oni (poor) and evyon (needy), 1 and to slay such as be yishrei derech 1 (upright ones on the road, that walk uprightly). 1
Their cherev shall enter into their own lev, 1 and their keshatot (bows) shall be broken. 1
A little that a tzaddik hath 1 is better than the riches of resha'im rabbim. 1
For the zero'ot (arms, powers) of the resha'im shall be broken; 1 but Hashem upholdeth the tzaddikim. 1
Hashem knoweth the yamim of the temimim (blameless ones); 1 and their nachalah (inheritance) shall be l'olam (forever). 1
They shall not be put to shame in time of evil; 1 and in the days of famine yisba'u (they shall be satisfied, enjoy plenty). 1
But the resha'im shall perish, 1 and the oyvei Hashem (enemies of Hashem) 1 shall be like the glory of the meadows; 1 they shall disappear like ashan (smoke), they shall vanish. 1
The rasha borroweth, and repayeth not; 1 but the tzaddik showeth chonen (generosity), and giveth. 1
For such as be blessed of Him shall inherit Eretz; 1 and they that be cursed of Him shall be cut off. 1
The steps of a gever (man) konanu (are ordered, made firm) by Hashem 1 and He delighteth in his derech. 1
Though he stumble, he shall not utterly fall; 1 for Hashem upholdeth him with His yad (hand, power). 1
I have been na'ar (young), 1 and now am old; yet I have not seen the tzaddik forsaken, 1 nor his zera begging lechem. 1
He is ever chonen (generous, merciful), + 37:26 See verse 21 and lendeth; 1 and his zera is blessed. 1
Depart from rah, and do tov; 1 and dwell l'olam (for evermore). 1
For Hashem loveth mishpat, 1 and forsaketh not His chasidim; 1 they are preserved l'olam; 1 but the zera resha'im shall be cut off. 1
The tzaddikim shall inherit Eretz, 1 and dwell therein forever. 1
The mouth of the tzaddik speaketh chochmah, 1 and his leshon uttereth mishpat. 1
The torat Elohav is in his lev; 1 no steps of his shall slip. 1
The rashah lieth in wait to ambush the tzaddik, 1 and seeketh to slay him. 1
Hashem will not leave him in his yad (hand, power), 1 nor condemn him b'hishshafto (when he is judged, brought to trial). 1
Wait on Hashem, and be shomer over His Derech, 1 and He shall exalt thee to inherit Eretz; 1 when the resha'im are cut off, thou shalt see it. 1
I have seen the violently powerful rashah, 1 spreading himself like an indigenous green tree. 1
Yet he passed away, 1 and, hinei, he was no more; 1 yes, I sought him, 1 but he could not be found. 1
Mark the blameless man, and observe the yashar (upright); 1 for the end of that ish is shalom. 1
But the poshe'im (rebels, transgressors) shall be made shmad together; 1 the latter end + 37:38 i.e., future of the resha'im shall be cut off. 1
But the Teshu'at Tzaddikim is of Hashem; 1 He is their ma'oz (stronghold, refuge) in the time of tzoros. 1
And Hashem helps them, and delivers them; 1 He shall deliver them from the resha'im, and save them, 1 because they take refuge in Him.
