Psalms 11

(For the one directing. Of Dovid) 1 how say ye to my nefesh, 1 Flee as a bird to your mountain? 1

For, hinei, the resha'im bend their bow, 1 they make ready their arrow upon the string, 1 that they may secretly shoot at the yishrei lev (upright in heart). 1

If the foundations be destroyed, 1 what can the tzaddik do? 1

Hashem is in His Heikhal Kodesh, 1 Hashemʼs kisse is in Shomayim; 1 His eyes examine, 1 His eyelids try, Bnei Adam. 1

Hashem trieth the tzaddik, 1 but the resha'im and him that loveth chamas (violence) 1 His Nefesh hateth. 1

Upon the resha'im He shall rain snares, 1 eish and gofrit, 1 and a burning wind; 1 this shall be the portion of their kos (cup). 1

For Hashem is tzaddik (righteous), Hashem loveth tzedakot; 1 His countenance doth behold the yashar (upright).
