Psalms 75
(For the one directing. Set to Do Not Destroy. Mizmor Asaph. Shir) 1
Hodinu l'cha Elohim (Unto thee, Elohim, do we give thanks). 1 Hodinu; that Thy Shem is near 1 Thy wondrous works declare. 1
I shall seize the mo'ed (appointed time), + 75:3 Hab 2:3 1 I will judge uprightly. 1
Eretz and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolving; 1 I, even I, hold up the ammudim (pillars) of it. 1 Selah 1
I said unto the hollelim (arrogant), Deal not boastfully; 1 and to the resha'im, Lift not up the keren; 1
Lift not up your keren on high; 1 speak not with a stiff neck. 1
For promotion cometh lo (not) from the east, 1 nor from the west, nor from the desert. 1
But Elohim is the Shofet; 1 He bringeth down one, and setteth up another. 1
For in the yad Hashem there is a kos, 1 and the yayin is foaming; full of mixture; 1 and He poureth out of the same; 1 but the dregs thereof, all rishei aretz (wicked of the earth) 1 shall drain them down, and drink them. + 75:9 Lk 22:42 1
But I will proclaim l'olam; 1 I will sing zemirot to Elohei Ya'akov. 1
All the karnayim of the resha'im also will I cut off; 1 but the karnayim of the tzaddik shall be exalted. + 75:11 T.N. In this Psalm we see that G-d is Judge. The Bible speaks of a great Assize where there will be a verdict regarding the sheep and the goats, the redeemed and the reprobate. See Rv 19:1 and 20:4-5 .
