Psalms 34
1(Of Dovid, when he feigned insanity before Avimelech, who drove him away, and he went out) 1
2I will make a bracha of praise unto Hashem at all times; 1 His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 1
3My nefesh shall make its boast in Hashem; 1 the anavim (humble) shall hear thereof, and be glad. 1
4O magnify Hashem with me, 1 and let us exalt Shmo together. 1
5I sought Hashem, and He heard me, 1 and delivered me from all my fears. 1
6They looked unto Him, and were radiant; 1 and their panim were not ashamed. 1
7The oni (poor man) cried, and Hashem heard him, 1 and saved him out of all his tzoros. 1
8The Malach Hashem encampeth round about them that fear Him, 1 and delivereth them. 1
9O taste and see that Hashem is tov; 1 ashrei is the man that taketh refuge in Him. 1
10O fear Hashem, ye His Kedoshim; 1 for there is no lack to them that fear Him. 1
11The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; 1 but they that seek Hashem shall not lack any good thing. 1
12Come, ye banim, pay heed unto me; 1 I will teach you the fear of Hashem. 1
13What ish is he that desireth chayyim, 1 and loveth many days, that he may see tov? 1
14Keep thy tongue from rah, 1 and thy lips from speaking mirmah. + 34:14 guile, see Isa 53:9 where it says Moshiach will lack mirmah 1
15Depart from rah, and do tov; 1 seek shalom, and pursue it. 1
16The eyes of Hashem are upon the tzaddikim, 1 and His ears open to their cry. 1
17The face of Hashem is against them that do rah, 1 to cut off the zekher (remembrance) of them from ha'aretz. 1
18The tzaddikim cry, and Hashem heareth, 1 and delivereth them out of all their tzoros. 1
19Hashem is near unto them whose lev is broken; 1 and saveth such whose ruach is contrite. 1
20Many are the afflictions of the tzaddik; 1 but Hashem delivereth him out of them all. 1
21He keepeth shomer over all his bones; 1 not one of them is broken. + 34:21 Yn 19:36 1
22Evil shall slay the resha'im; 1 and they that hate the tzaddik shall be desolate. 1
23Hashem redeemeth the nefesh of His avadim; 1 and none of them that take refuge in Him shall be condemned. + 34:23 See Ro 5:1; 8:1
