Psalms 142

(Maskil of Dovid; A tefillah when he was in the me'arah) 1

I cried out unto Hashem with my voice; 1 with my voice unto Hashem did I make my techinnah (supplication). 1

I poured out my complaint before Him; 1 I showed before Him my tzoros. 1

When my ruach became faint within me, 1 then Thou had da'as of my path. 1 In the way wherein I walked 1 have they laid a pach (snare, hidden trap) for me. 1

I looked on my right, and behold, 1 there was no man that would know me; 1 refuge failed me; 1 no man cared for my nefesh. 1

I cried unto Thee, 1 Hashem; I said, 1 Thou art my refuge and my chelek (portion) in the Eretz HaChayyim. 1

Attend unto my cry; 1 for I am brought very low; 1 save me from my persecutors; 1 for they are stronger than I. 1

Release my nefesh from prison, to praise Shemecha (Thy Name); 1 the tzaddikim shall gather about me; 1 for Thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
