Psalms 106

Praise Hashem! 1 O give thanks unto Hashem; for He is tov; 1 for His chesed endureth l'olam. 1

Who can speak of the gevurot (mighty acts) of Hashem? 1 Who can show forth all His tehillah (praise)? 1

Ashrei (happy, blessed) are they who are shomrei mishpat, 1 and he that doeth tzedakah at all times. 1

Remember me, Hashem, with the favor that Thou bearest unto Thy people; 1 O visit me with Thy Yeshu'ah (salvation); 1

That I may see the good of Bechireicha (Thy chosen ones), 1 that I may rejoice in the simchah of Thy nation, 1 that I may glory with Thine nachalah (the people of Thy inheritance). 1

We have sinned with Avoteinu, 1 we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. 1

Avoteinu had no seichal concerning Thy nifla'ot (wonders) in Mitzrayim; 1 they remembered not the multitude of Thy mercies 1 but provoked Him at the yam, even at the Yam Suf. 1

Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of Shmo, 1 that He might make His gevu'rot (mighty power) to be known. 1

He rebuked the Yam Suf also, and it dried up; 1 so He led them through the tehomot, as through the midbar. 1

And He saved them from the yad of him that hated them, 1 and He acted to make the go'el redemption from the yad of the oyev (enemy). 1

And the mayim covered their enemies; 1 there was not echad (one) of them left surviving. 1

Then believed they in His Devarim; 1 they sang His tehillah. 1

Then they hurried, they forgot His ma'asim; 1 they waited not for His etzah (counsel, advice, wisdom); 1

But lusted exceedingly in the midbar, 1 and tempted G-d in the desert. 1

And He gave them their she'elah (request); 1 but sent leanness into their nefesh. 1

They envied Moshe also in the machaneh, 1 and Aharon the kadosh Hashem (Aharon the holy one of Hashem ). 1

Eretz opened and swallowed up Datan 1 and covered over the Adat Aviram (the company of Aviram). 1

And an eish was kindled in their edah (assembly); 1 the flame burned up the resha'im. 1

They made an egel (a calf) in Chorev, 1 and worshiped a massekhah (molden image). 1

Thus they exchanged their kavod 1 for a tavnit shor (likeness of an ox) that eateth esev (grass). 1

They forgot G-d their Moshi'a, 1 Who had done gedolot in Mitzrayim; 1

Nifla'ot (wondrous works) in Eretz Cham, 1 and nora'ot (awesome things) by the Yam Suf. 1

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, 1 had not Moshe His bechir (chosen one) 1 stood before Him in the peretz (breach), 1 to turn away His wrath, lest He should destroy them. 1

Then they despised the eretz chemdah (desirable land); 1 they believed not His Devar; 1

But murmured in their ohalim, 1 and paid heed not unto the kol (voice) of Hashem. 1

Therefore + 106:26 in oath He lifted up His yad against them, 1 that He would overthrow them in the midbar; 1

To make their zera fall also among the Goyim, 1 and to scatter them among the aratzot (lands). 1

They joined themselves also unto Ba'al-Pe'or, 1 and ate the zivkhei mesim (sacrifices offered to the dead). 1

Thus they provoked Him to anger with their inventions; 1 and the magefah (plague) broke out among them. 1

Then stood up Pinchas, and interposed; 1 and so the magefah (plague) was halted. 1

And that was counted unto him for tzedakah 1 l'dor vador ad olam. 1

They angered Him also at the waters of Merivah, 1 so that it went ill with Moshe on their account; 1

Because they provoked his ruach 1 and he + 106:33 Moshe spoke unadvisedly with his sfatayim (lips). 1

They did not destroy the amim (peoples), 1 as Hashem commanded them; 1

But they mingled with the Goyim, 1 and learned their ma'asim (works, customs). 1

And they served their atzabim (idols); 1 which were a mokesh (snare) unto them. 1

And they sacrificed their banim 1 and their banot unto shedim (demons), 1

And they shed dahm naki (innocent blood), 1 even the dahm of their banim and of their banot, 1 whom they sacrificed unto the atzabei Kena'an (idols of Canaan); 1 and HaAretz was polluted with blood-guilt. 1

Thus they made themselves tameh with their own ma'asim, 1 and went a-whoring with their own inventions. 1

Therefore was the wrath of Hashem kindled against His people, 1 insomuch that He abhorred His own nachalah. 1

And He gave them into the yad Goyim; 1 and they that hated them ruled over them. 1

Their oyevim also oppressed them, 1 and they were brought into subjection under their yad. 1

Many times did He deliver them; 1 but they provoked Him with their etzah (counsel), 1 and so perished in their avon (iniquity). 1

Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, 1 when He heard their rinnah (cry of grief); 1

And He remembered for their sake His Brit, 1 and relented according to the multitude of His chasadim (lovingkindnesses). 1

He made them also to be pitied with rachamim 1 by all those that carried them away as captives. 1

Hoshieini (save us), Hashem Eloheinu, 1 and gather us from among the Goyim, 1 to give thanks unto Thy Shem Kadosh, 1 and to glory in Thy tehillah (praise). 1

Baruch Hashem Elohei Yisroel 1 min haOlam v'ad haOlam; 1 and let kol HaAm say, Omein. 1 Praise Hashem!
