Psalms 71
In Thee, Hashem, do I put my trust; 1 let me not be put to shame l'olam. 1
Deliver me in Thy tzedakah, 1 and cause me to escape; incline Thine ear unto me, 1 and hoshi'eini (save me). 1
Be Thou Tzur Ma'on (a rock of habitation), 1 whereunto I may resort tamid (continually); 1 Thou hast given commandment to save me; 1 for Thou art my rock and my fortress. 1
Deliver me, O Elohai, out of the yad of the rasha, 1 out of the palm of the unrighteous and cruel man. 1
For Thou art my tikveh (hope), Adonoi Hashem; 1 Thou art my trust from my youth. 1
By Thee have I been upheld from the beten (womb); 1 Thou art He that took me out of the womb of immi; 1 my tehillah (praise) shall be of Thee tamid (continually). 1
I am as a mofet (portent) unto rabbim (many); 1 but Thou art my strong refuge. 1
Let my mouth be filled with Thy tehillah (praise) 1 and with Thy tiferet (glory) kol hayom. 1
Cast me not off in the time of ziknah (old age); 1 forsake me not when my ko'ach faileth. 1
For mine oyevim speak against me; 1 and they that lay in wait for my nefesh conspire together, 1
Saying, Elohim hath forsaken him; 1 persecute and lay hold of him; 1 for there is none to rescue him. 1
O Elohim, be not far from me; 1 O Elohai, make haste for my help. 1
Let them be ashamed and consumed 1 that are + 71:13 satanic adversaries to my nefesh; 1 let them be covered with cherpah (reproach) and dishonor 1 that seek my hurt. 1
But I will hope tamid (continually), 1 and will yet give tehillah to Thee more and more. 1
My mouth shall proclaim Thy tzedakah 1 and Thy Teshuah (salvation) kol hayom; 1 for I know not the limits thereof. 1
I will come in the gevurot (mighty acts) of Adonoi Hashem; 1 I will make mention of Thy tzedakah, even of Thine only. 1
O Elohim, Thou hast taught me from my youth; 1 and hitherto have I declared Thy nifle'ot (wondrous works). 1
Now also when I am in ziknah (old age) 1 and grayheaded, O Elohim, forsake me not; 1 until I have declared Thy zero'a + 71:18 Moshiach; see Isa 53:1 unto this generation, 1 and Thy gevurah to everyone that is to come. 1
Thy tzedakah also, O Elohim, is ad marom (to the heights). 1 Thou Who hast done gedolot (great things); 1 O Elohim, mi khamocha (who is like unto Thee)? 1
Thou, which hast showed me great and severe tzoros, 1 shalt revive me again, 1 and shalt bring me up again 1 from the tehomot (abysses) of ha'aretz. 1
Thou shalt increase my gedolah, 1 and comfort me on every side. 1
I will also praise Thee with the nevel (lyre), 1 even Thy emes, O Elohai; 1 unto Thee will I sing with the kinnor (harp), 1 O Thou Kadosh Yisroel. 1
My lips shall shout for joy 1 when I sing unto Thee; 1 and my nefesh, which Thou hast purchased for redemption. 1
My leshon also shall tell of Thy tzedakah kol hayom; 1 for they are brought unto shame, 1 they are humiliated that seek my hurt.
