Psalms 94
Hashem G-d, to whom vengeance belongeth; 1 O G-d, to whom vengeance belongeth, show Thyself. 1
Rise up, Thou Shofet HaAretz; 1 render gemul (recompense, desert) to the ge'im (proud ones). 1
Ad mosai, Hashem, shall the resha'im, 1 how long shall the resha'im triumph? 1
How long shall they utter and speak malicious lies? 1 And all the po'alei aven (workers of iniquity) glorify themselves? 1
They crush Thy people, Hashem, 1 and afflict Thine nachalah. 1
They slay the almanah and the ger, 1 and murder the yetomim (fatherless, orphans). 1
Yet they say, Hashem shall not see, 1 neither shall the Elohei Ya'akov regard it. 1
Understand, ye brutish among the people; 1 and ye kesilim (fools), when will ye get seichel? 1
He that planted the ozen (ear), shall He not hear? 1 He that formed the ayin (eye), shall He not see? 1
He that chastiseth the Goyim, shall not He reprove? 1 He that is the melamed (teacher) of da'as to adam? 1
Hashem knoweth the machshevot (thoughts) of adam, 1 that they are hevel (vanity, futile). 1
Ashrei (blessed) is the gever whom Thou chastenest, Hashem, 1 and teachest him out of Thy torah; 1
That Thou mayest grant him relief from the days of rah, 1 until a shachat (pit) is dug for the rasha. 1
For Hashem will not cast off His people, 1 neither will He forsake His nachalah. 1
But mishpat shall revert unto tzedek; 1 and all the yishrei lev (upright in heart) shall follow after it. 1
Who will rise up for Me against the evildoers? 1 Or who will take a stand for Me against the po'alei aven (workers of iniquity)? 1
Unless Hashem had been my help, 1 my nefesh had almost dwelt in dumah (silence). 1
When I said, My regel (foot) slippeth, 1 Thy chesed, Hashem, held me up. 1
In the multitude of my anxieties within me 1 Thy comforts delight my nefesh. 1
Shall the kisse of corruption have chavurah (fellowship) with Thee, 1 those, which deviseth evil by a chok (statute)? 1
They band together against the nefesh of the tzaddik, 1 and condemn dahm naki (innocent blood). 1
But Hashem is my stronghold; 1 and Elohai is the Tzur of my refuge. 1
And He shall turn back upon them their own iniquity, 1 and shall destroy them for their own wickedness; 1 Hashem Eloheinu shall destroy them.
