Psalms 5
(For the one directing. For the flutes. Mizmor Dovid) 1
Give ear to my words, Hashem, 1 consider my meditation. 1
Pay heed unto the voice of my cry, Malki v'Elohai; 1 for unto Thee will I daven. 1
My voice shalt Thou hear in the boker, Hashem; 1 in the boker will I bring my prayer before Thee as a spiritual sacrifice and wait for an answer. 1
For Thou art not El that hath pleasure in resha; 1 neither shall rah dwell with Thee. 1
The holelim (arrogant) shall not stand in Thy sight; 1 Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 1
Thou shalt destroy them that speak kazav (falsehood); 1 Hashem will abhor the ish damim u'mirmah (bloody and deceitful man). 1
But as for me, I will come 1 into Thy Bais in the multitude of Thy chesed; 1 and in Thy fear will I bow down 1 toward Thy Heikhal Kodesh. 1
Lead me, Hashem, in Thy tzedakah 1 because of mine enemies; 1 make Thy Derech straight before my face. 1
For there is nothing trustworthy in their mouth; 1 their inwardness is a corruptible abyss; 1 their throat is an open kever; 1 they speak smooth deceit with their leshon. 1
Punish them, Elohim; 1 let them fall by their own intrigues; 1 in the multitude of their peysha'im cast them out; 1 for they have rebelled against Thee. 1
But let all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice; 1 let them shout for joy l'olam, 1 and spread Thou protection over them that they be joyful in Thee, 1 who love Shemecha (Thy Name). 1
For Thou, Hashem, wilt bless the Tzaddik; 1 with ratzon (favor) wilt Thou encompass him as with a tzinnah (large rectangular shield).
