Psalms 143
(Mizmor of Dovid) 1 in Thy emunah answer me, and in Thy tzedakah. 1
And enter not into mishpat with Thy eved; 1 for in Thy sight shall no man living be yitzadak (justified). 1
For the oyev (enemy) hath persecuted my nefesh; 1 he hath struck down my life to the ground; 1 he hath made me to dwell in places of choshech (darkness), 1 like metei olam (those long dead). 1
Therefore is my ruach become faint within me; 1 my lev within me is desolate. 1
I remember yamim mikedem (days of old), 1 I meditate on all Thy works; 1 I muse on the ma'aseh (work) of Thy hands. 1
I stretch forth my hands unto Thee; 1 my nefesh thirsteth after Thee, like an eretz ayefah (a parched, thirsty land). 1 Selah 1
Hear me speedily, Hashem; my ruach faileth; 1 hide not Thy face from me, 1 lest I be like those that go down into the bor (pit). 1
Cause me to hear Thy chesed in the boker; 1 for in Thee do I trust; 1 cause me to know the Derech wherein I should walk; 1 for I lift up my nefesh unto Thee. 1
Save me, Hashem, from mine oyevim (enemies); 1 I flee unto Thee to hide me. 1
Teach me to do Retzonecha (Thy will); 1 for Thou art Elohai; 1 may Thy Ruach Tov lead me on level ground. 1
Revive me, Hashem, l'ma'an (for the sake of) Thy Shem (Name); 1 in Thy tzedakah bring my nefesh out of tzoros. 1
And in Thy chesed silence mine enemies, 1 and destroy all them that oppress my nefesh; 1 for I am Thy eved.
