Psalms 57
(For the one directing. Set to Do Not Destroy. Mikhtam of Dovid, when he had fled from Sha'ul into the me'arah [cave]) 1
Channeni, O Elohim, channeni; 1 for my nefesh taketh refuge in Thee; 1 yes, in the tzel (shadow) of Thy wings will I make my refuge, 1 until these devastations pass by. 1
I will cry out unto Elohim Elyon; 1 unto El that fulfilleth all things for me. 1
He shall send from Shomayim, 1 and save me from the disgrace of him that would swallow me up. 1 Selah 1 Elohim shall send forth His chesed (lovingkindness) and His emes (truth). 1
My nefesh is among lions, 1 and I lie even among them that devour Bnei Adam, 1 whose shinayim (teeth) are spears and khitzim (arrows), 1 and their leshon a sharp cherev. 1
Be Thou exalted, O Elohim, above Shomayim; 1 let Thy kavod be above kol ha'aretz. 1
They have prepared a reshet (net) for my steps; 1 my nefesh is bowed down; 1 they have dug a pit before me, 1 into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. 1 Selah 1
My lev is nachon (steadfast), O Elohim, my lev is nachon; 1 I will sing and make music. 1
Awake, my kavod (glory, soul, life); 1 awake, nevel and kinnor; 1 I myself will awake the shachar (dawn). 1
I will give thanks unto Thee, Adonoi, among the peoples; 1 I will sing of Thee among the peoples. 1
For Thy chesed is gadol unto Shomayim, 1 and Thy emes unto the heights. 1
Be Thou exalted, O Elohim, above Shomayim; 1 let Thy kavod be above kol ha'aretz (all the earth).
