Psalms 118

O give thanks unto Hashem; for He is tov; 1 Ki l'olam chasdo (for His mercy endureth forever). 1

Let Yisroel now say, 1 Ki l'olam chasdo. 1

Let the Bais Aharon now say, 1 Ki l'olam chasdo. 1

Let them now that fear Hashem say, 1 Ki l'olam chasdo. 1

I called upon Hashem in distress; 1 Hashem answered me, and set me in a broad place. 1

Hashem is on my side; 1 I will not fear; what can adam do unto me? 1

Hashem taketh my part through them that help me; 1 therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. 1

It is better to trust in Hashem 1 than to put confidence in adam. 1

It is better to trust in Hashem 1 than to put confidence in nedivim (nobles). 1

All Goyim surrounded me; 1 but in the Shem Hashem will I cut them off. 1

They surrounded me; yes, they compassed me about; 1 but in the Shem Hashem I will cut them off. 1

They compassed me about like devorim (bees); 1 they are extinguished like the eish of kotzim (thorns); 1 for in the Shem Hashem I will cut them off. 1

Thou hast hard pushed at me that I fell; 1 but Hashem helped me. 1

Hashem is my oz (strength) and zimrah (song), 1 and He is become my Yeshu'ah (salvation). 1

The voice of rejoicing and Yeshu'ah (salvation) 1 is in the ohalim of the tzaddikim; 1 the Yamin Hashem doeth valiantly. 1

The Yamin Hashem is exalted; 1 the Yamin Hashem doeth valiantly. 1

I shall not die, but live, 1 and declare the ma'asim (works) of Hashem. 1

Hashem hath hard chastened me severely; 1 but He hath not given me over unto mavet (death). 1

Open to me the sha'arei tzedek; 1 I will go through them, and I will praise Hashem; 1

This is the sha'ar of Hashem, 1 into which the tzaddikim shall enter. 1

I will praise Thee; 1 for Thou hast heard me, and art become my Yeshu'ah (salvation). 1

The Even (Stone) which the Bonim (Builders) rejected + 118:22 mem-alef-samech, see same word Ps 89:38 [39] 1 has become the Rosh Pinnah (Cornerstone). 1

This is Hashemʼs doing; 1 it is marvellous in our eyes. 1

This is the yom which Hashem hath made; 1 let us rejoice and be glad in it. 1

Save now, we beseech Thee, Hashem; 1 Hashem, we beseech thee, send now prosperity. 1

Baruch habah b'Shem Hashem; 1 we have blessed you from the Beis Hashem. 1

Hashem is G-d, Who hath showed us light; 1 bind the chag (festival offering) with cords, 1 even until + 118:27 you come to the karnot of the Mizbe'ach. 1

Thou art my G-d, and I will praise Thee; 1 Thou art Elohai, I will exalt Thee. 1

O give thanks unto Hashem; for He is tov; 1 ki l'olam chasdo (for His mercy endureth forever). + 118:29 T.N. A ma'amin b'Moshiach will carry Scripture with him at all times, as the following Psalm teaches.
